Scholarships & Grants

Salt Lake Community College has received funding from the State of Utah to support Utah residents financially as they pursue their educational goals. Descriptions of these funds, their purpose, and applications are outlined below. Technical Education Scholarship

The Technical Education Scholarship provides financial assistance to Utahns pursuing a technical education certificate in high demand industries. This scholarship is available to recent high school graduates and adults enrolled in a high demand program at Salt Lake Technical College. This state-sponsored scholarship program will cover tuition and fees for approved programs, provided you are making acceptable academic progress. Salt Lake Tech Scholarship

The SLTECH Scholarship provides financial assistance to students pursuing a technical education certificate in high demand industries at Salt Lake Technical College. This state-sponsored scholarship program covers tuition and fees for approved programs. To be eligible for this opportunity, students must apply and gain acceptance to Salt Lake Community College. Additionally, current SLTech students may also apply, provided they maintain acceptable academic progress in their respective programs. It's important to note that all applicants must have legal eligibility to work in the U.S. upon successful completion of their SLTech program. SLTech Scholarship Application

ESL

English as a Second Language is eligible for the Mastering ESL Scholarship designed to financially assist students who are enrolled in English as a Second Language (ESL) courses at SLCC. This scholarship is worth up to $300 during the Fall semester. Questions about the application process should be directed to the ESL team at ESLAdmin@slcc.edu.

Sponsored Students

Some state and private agencies will assist in job training, including the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation, the Department of Workforce Services, Deseret Industries and other private agencies. Many private employers also offer tuition reimbursement. Refer to their websites for further information.

Funding Sources/Initiatives

Workforce programs partner with local business and community groups to train Utah’s residents and further them in their careers. We offer public courses, pathway programs, and custom training to fit a company’s or an individual’s needs. Click here to review the available funding and initiatives

Short-Term Intensive Training

Short Term Intensive Training (STIT) funds are available for approved noncredit courses. If you are approved for funding, STIT will pay 50% of the cost of the tuition associated with the course. Click here to review the online requirements and get started.

In partnership with Talent Ready Utah, Salt Lake Community College is proud to offer tuition-free training through Utah Works.
