Yes, the following schools accept SLCC courses numbered 1000 or above as general education, major credit or elective credit. Majors require additional steps for transfer, specific GPA and courses apply. Once you are admitted to the university, please set up an appointment with the major advisor.

No, admission into a program depends on each school’s requirements for that program. Some programs are selective admissions and may require a special application. Please check with an academic advisor or transfer advisor at SLCC and at your transfer school.

The guide describes whether the class will be considered equivalent to a class offered by the second institution or will be treated as elective credit. How credit transfers is important: you want credit to count as a required class for the certificate or degree program you are working on.

The Academic Certificate in General Education is a great option for some students. If you complete all general education requirements but not an AS or AA degree at SLCC, you will have completed the lower-division general education requirements for a degree at Utah’s public colleges and universities, and Westminster College. If you have completed this, please verify with the Graduation Office that an Academic Certificate in General Education is imbedded within the official transcripts you send to your transfer school.

Yes. However, if you are planning to transfer to a public Utah university and have a permanent Utah address at the time you apply to any public Utah university, the admissions application fee is waived. (Again, please check to see if your intended transfer program has a separate application/application fee).
