Rick leads a talented group of workforce professionals that will assess and assist your team with technical, leadership, soft skills needs or create custom training solutions. Companies in any industry can grow and prosper through comprehensive workforce training and educational offerings.

He started the Division of Workforce & Economic Development at SLCC in 2015 after serving as the Dean of Technical Specialties. Rick has been with the College since 1999 in roles that have been focused on enhancing area businesses, governmental entities and community outreach. “Collaboration is the on-ramp to innovation!”

Assistant Vice President, Workforce Training & Continuing Education

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities: Program development and evaluation; participant outcomes; strategic planning and continuous improvement for individual careers and industry needs.

Jenni leads a professional team in developing and delivering dozens of noncredit and credit programs that prepare Salt Lake community members for high demand jobs. The WTE team works closely with industry experts to design relevant training, helping individuals of all ages prepare for new careers or upskill for advancement.

Jenni comes from California with more than a decade of community college experience in strategic planning, research, and innovative workforce program development. She is passionate about educational collaboration with community and industry partners. Her expertise in sharing labor market information has helped clarify exploration and program choices, as students gain a better understanding of high demand/high wage careers.

Diana Guetschow

Diana Guetschow

Director, Workforce Training & Education

Responsibilities:

Uncover skill gaps in your workforce and develop training programs designed to enhance employee skills.

Diana leads a team of workforce professionals that deliver custom training to fit your company’s needs, fill skill gaps and improve the quality of your organization. Her team utilizes the Custom Fit Training program, funded by the State of Utah, to potentially help defray the cost of training and build out custom training to address your company’s needs.

She also matches companies and individuals with learning options designed to close identified skill gaps in the workforce. Her focus is to work with industries to solve training needs through a variety of custom training options and public training courses.

Diana started with SLCC Workforce in October 2017. Prior to joining SLCC she spent years in higher education developing solutions for skill training and talent development. Diana was a partner/business owner for many years and brings a unique understanding of the training needs of organizations.

Mi Yon Hodges

Mi Yon Hodges

Assistant Director, Program and Course Development

Responsibilities:

Project management – program development and management – program advising.

Mi Yon leads the research, planning and implementation of new programs and oversees curriculum development within the division.

She has been with the College since 1999 and has a successful track record of launching, incubating and growing new programs to be sustainable, as well as managing grants.

Workforce Solutions Manager

Responsibilities:

Workforce training solutions for Energy, Manufacturing & Advanced Materials, Transportation, and Technical Trades sectors.

Bonnie works with industry on helping fill their employee pipeline, as well as current employee trainings, to build a better workforce.

She started in the Division of Workforce & Economic Development at SLCC in 2016 after serving as the Utah Aerospace Pathways Grant lead. Bonnie has been with the College since 2006, serving as a student Coordinator in Cosmetology & Barbering and a Completion Coordinator for the Department of Technical Specialties.

Paul Glanton

Paul Glanton

Workforce Manager

Responsibilities:

Paul works with companies, community-based organizations, and industry leaders to provide training and learning opportunities that lead to professional growth and employee retention in support of the SLCC Custom Fit Training and Frontline Leader Workshops programs. His goal in Workforce Training & Education is to ensure that all businesses and industries in the region have a skilled and talented workforce through a variety of custom and public training options.

Paul has worked in the education, training, and marketing arena for over 25 years and brings a wealth of experience to our campus. He attended the University of Minnesota as a student athlete as a music major and theater minor. Paul’s collegiate career was followed by a brief stint with the National Football League Kansas City Chiefs and performance of several leading roles with the St. Paul Opera Theater Company.

Paul has worked as an Assistant and Associate Director of Admissions at Westminster College, Carleton College, Wesleyan University, and Brown University. Prior to SLCC, he served as program manager and director with K12 Inc., Sylvan Learning, Management & Training Corporation, Philadelphia Job Corps Center, and Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition.

Paul’s passion is partnering with organizations and businesses to help create and maintain educational and employment opportunities for low-income and under-represented youth and adults, and sharing his personal, educational, and career experiences in an effort to help motivate and support others.

Karen Dell

Responsibilities:

Workforce training solutions and partnership development providing outstanding Frontline Leader training for industry leaders and their workforce. Her goal is to assist in the positive change for our clients through our training.

Karen has worked in the higher education arena for over 20 years as a high energy executive level leader in education and business administration.  She has been a change agent raising the bottom line, creating positive work cultures,training & development to C-level executives, her mantra of “Rise to the top” also includes giving back to the community.

Karen serves and has served on many boards, professional organizations including volunteering with the Department of Defense, Employer Support National Guard and Reserve Utah.  Recognized for her dedication to educational progress and hybrid learning modalities, she was listed in Utah Business Magazine’s top 40.

General workforce inquiries - scheduling meetings.

Deborah supports Associate Vice President Rick Bouillon in the Division of Workforce & Economic Development. Deborah has worked with Rick for eight years, and has been with SLCC since 1996 in a variety of administrative assistant and secretarial roles.
