bear

Are you a Salt Lake County Resident looking to remove barriers that may have prevented you from pursuing your dream? You may be eligible to enroll in a free program at Salt Lake Community College and receive extensive support services to help you realize your dreams.

Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) received a 5-year grant from Salt Lake County to support individuals who enroll in workforce training programs. WISE funding for these services is intended to help individuals remove barriers, enroll in a program of your choice (including short term certificate programs), complete courses, and find employment in your chosen field.

Support Services

SLCC will provide the following support services to qualified individuals who enroll in the WISE program.

  • Outreach to community members to show a path to a better career and create a plan for success
  • One-to-One Academic/Training Advising (a dedicated advisor to guide your progress from interest to graduation)
  • Resource Navigation (assistance with housing, food, childcare, transportation, technology assistance, ESL, etc.)
  • Career Coaching (assistance with job searches, resume writing, interview preparation, etc.)
  • Mental Health Counseling (professional support given to WISE participants to ensure mental and emotional well-being throughout the program)

WISE services can be paired with enrollment in training programs, such as the Learn & Work program , other scholarships, FAFSA, or grants.
