How To Calculate Your GPA Your GPA is the average of your grades. To figure your GPA for this term, first multiply the number of credit hours for each course times the numerical value of the grade (see chart below). This will give you quality points for each course. Then divide the total number of credit hours in to the total number of quality points. For example: | Engl 1010 | C | 3cr x 2.0 | = 6 pts. | | CIS 1020 | B | 3cr x 3.0 | = 9 pts. | | Math 1010 | B | 4cr x 3.0 | = 12 pts. | | Psy 1010 | A | 3cr x 4.0 | = 12 pts | | ---------------------------------------------------- | | | | = 13 | | = 39 pts. | | 39 pts. / 13 cr. =3.0 GPA | In order to calculate your cumulative GPA, repeat the above for ALL courses taken. Do not use incomplete, dropped, or withdrawn courses. | Grade | A | A - | B+ | B | B - | C+ | C | C - | D+ | D | D - | E | | Points | 4.0 | 3.7 | 3.4 | 3.0 | 2.7 | 2.4 | 2.0 | 1.7 | 1.4 | 1.0 | .7 | 0 | You can calculate you GPA online: www.slcc.edu/advising/gpacal.htm |
