What is Apprenticeship Training at SLCC
Apprenticeship training is classroom related instruction designed to provide the apprentice with knowledge of theoretical and technical aspects of their craft.

What will I learn
You will learn the theoretical and technical aspects necessary to be successful in your respective craft, that are typically not learned on the job-site.

How long will it take
Most apprenticeship programs take 3-4 years depending on the craft.

How much will it cost
Tuition for apprenticeship courses are approximately 1/2 the regular tuition at Salt Lake Community College. Apprenticeship programs are not eligible for financial aid, but several scholarships are available for qualified students. Books are additional and for most programs will be purchased on a yearly basis.

How does it differ from other CTE programs at SLCC
Apprenticeship programs differ from other CTE programs at SLCC in that the student is required to be employed and working in their respective industry while attending school.

What are the benefits

The primary benefit of doing an apprenticeship program is that you are working and earning while you are attending school. In most cases the tasks that you are doing on the job will correlate directly with the curriculum you are learning in the classroom.

Who are the faculty members

Faculty members are selected from industry and are at least journeyman level professionals with at lest 6 years of experience.
