Other Colleges: ASL 1010 is transferable to SLCC from all accredited Utah Colleges. Transfer Credits for ASL 1020, 2010 and 2020 are not accepted. Credit for the 1010 and/or 1020 class can be earned by passing the ASL challenge test(s). Please contact the ASLI department secretary if you have questions about transferring. High School Credit: Students who have ASL skills from high school may submit the Utah State Office of Education American Sign Language Level 1 Certificate for credit in ASLI 1010. This is the only certificate accepted. Students with ASL skills from high school are encouraged to take the SLCC challenge test(s) for placement in SLCC ASL classes. Transferring Credit From Other Institutions to SLCC - Apply for admission as a matriculated (degree seeking) student and then follow these steps:
- Request that official copies of transcripts be sent directly to SLCC from each former institution. SLCC can accept hand-delivered copies only if they are delivered unopened in the original envelope and bear the official school seal.
- Fill out a Request for Evaluation of Transfer Credits at Salt Lake Community College’s Enrollment Services or fill it out on the Web.
- An evaluation of the credit will begin as soon as a transcript is received. Depending on the volume of requests, a transfer evaluation may take 2–4 weeks to complete.
NOTE: Transfer and high school creditd more than 2 years old will not be accepted. To find out if your SLCC credits will transfer to other institutions, please contact that college's ASL department. |
