Softball:   
NJCAA Names Lindsey Palmer Betty Jo Graber Female Athlete of the Year
SALT LAKE CITY (July 1, 2008) - Salt Lake CC is proud to announce that Lindsey Palmer has been named the Betty Jo Graber Female Athlete of the Year.  The recipient of this award is selected out of all female athletes in the NJCAA.   To qualify for the award the recipient must maintain a 2.0 GPA, completed her 2nd year of NJCAA competition and must be named NJCAA All-American one year.  Palmer is the 16th female athlete and the third softball player to be awarded such an honor.  Along with being named Female Athlete of the Year Palmer was also 1st team NJCAA All-American, 1st team NFCA All-American, SWAC Pitcher of the Year and Region 18 All Tournament Team


Baseball:
Baseball Losses Two; Finishes Third at Tournament

SALT LAKE CITY (May 12, 2008) – The Salt Lake CC Men’s Baseball team finished their year with two losses (5-1, 11-1) in the Region 18 Tournament.  Kyle Bubak was named SWAC Defensive Player of the Year; Scott Manning, Sean Moysh and Adam Gunn were all named first team all region.  Ryan Bernal was named second team all region.  Their season ends with a record of 39-20 and a third place finish in the SWAC regular season.


Men's Basketball:
Jackson Named 1st Team All-American

SALT LAKE CITY (April 8, 2008) – Salt Lake CC sophomore guard DaVell Jackson was named a NJCAA 1st Team All-American.  Jackson helped lead Salt Lake to their highest finish at the NJCAA tournament falling in the national championship game.

 
Women's Basketball: 
Women's Basketball Falls to North Idaho
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (March 7, 2008) - Salt Lake CC Women's Basketball falls to North Idaho College 76-67 in the Scenic West Regional Tournament.  The loss drops Salt Lake out of the tournament and ends their season with a 22-9 record.

Volleyball:
Salt Lake CC Announces New Head Volleyball Coach
SALT LAKE CITY (April 10, 2008) – Athletic Director Norma Carr is pleased to announce that Susan Dulaney is the new head volleyball coach at Salt Lake Community College.  Coach Dulaney has been the head coach at Western Wyoming College since 2000.  She has led Western Wyoming to Region IX titles in 2004 and 2006.
