| Utah’s Custom Fit Training Program utilizes state funds to stimulate economic development, facilitate the creation of new jobs, and provide businesses with a trained workforce by providing company-specific customized employee training to business and industry. The types of training subsidized by custom are as varied as the companies themselves. The Custom Fit Program is administered by Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) for Salt Lake and Tooele Counties. |

Key Points:

Recipient companies must be:
- For profit organizations,
- New to the state or,
- Expanding (a net increase in full time employees during the past year) or,
- In need of upgrade skills training for their employees.
- Funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- SLCC will pay the Trainer a maximum of $500 per eligible trainee per fiscal year. The company will be billed 50% of what the College pays. The company will receive a maximum of $250 per trainee per fiscal year. Any training costs in excess of $500 per trainee or any training costs not covered by a Training Agreement will be the company’s responsibility.
- Available to full-time employees (32 hours per week)
- Employees must earn at least $11.00 per hour in Salt Lake County, $8.50 per hour in Tooele City and $8.00 per hour in Tooele County
- Training is short-term in duration
