Prerequisite: Knowledge of Windows and experience working with images. Workshop consists of four 3-hr sessions. Module I This workshop teaches students the fundamentals of using Flash to design animations for the Web. Introduces skills necessary to create and edit shapes, apply colors and line styles, combine and group shapes and use external images. Topics include using layers to arrange shapes, modify layers, create frame-by-frame animation, and work with templates. The workshop is filled with interactive exercises to help improve student retention.
Module II Students learn how to create, edit and animate symbols and shapes; work with instances to create more complex animations. Students add interactivity to movies by using the ActionScript and the Actions panel, and store and perform calculations by creating fields. Course activities also cover adding sound to layers and buttons, editing sound objects, importing and managing video and associating sound and video in Flash. Students test the download performance of a movie, create a pre loader, and publish a movie on the Web.
