Salt Lake Community College announces a new opportunity for high school students to take Concurrent Enrollment classes.  On-Campus Concurrent Enrollment enables students to take classes after school at the college. The classes will be offered at several Salt Lake Community College campuses.  Students will still get credit toward high school graduation and a college degree.

Please read through the following information and decide if this option is right for you.

  • Students who have completed 10th or 11th grade (or will complete 10th grade in June 2008) are eligible for On-Campus Concurrent Enrollment.  Seniors who will graduate from high school in June 2008 and students who will start 10th grade in fall 2008 are not eligible.
  • Students who have completed 10th or 11th grade and are still in high school are eligible for On-Campus Concurrent Enrollment.
  • Many courses will mix high school students with adult students in the same class.
  • Classes will be taught by College faculty and follow the college schedule.
  • We recommend 3 to 6 credit hours and will allow a maximum of 9 credit hours in this program.
  • There is no charge for tuition, however you are responsible to provide your own transportation, supplies, books and fees. o   You must be able to attend classes according to the College schedule.  Students will not be excused from college classes to participate in high school activities.
  • Attendance is vital. If you will miss more than 2 consecutive classes, make arrangements with the teacher in advance or consider withdrawing from the class.
  • You must submit the completed registration form signed by a high school counselor or administrator and the signed Student and Parent/Guardian Memorandum of Understanding. Students who register for classes but fail to submit these forms to the Concurrent Enrollment office by the first day of class will be dropped from class.
  • Expect at least two (2) hours of homework outside of class for every hour you spend in class.
