Getting Paid for Special Projects

The Concurrent Enrollment office will pay for time spent on additional visits or projects related to a Concurrent Enrollment course, but the visits or projects must be approved in writing in advance by the Concurrent Enrollment director and the division or department chairperson. There is a "Concurrent Enrollment Project Proposal Form" available for this purpose.

What is a Special Project?

A project related to Concurrent Enrollment is work above and beyond the site visits that the liaison feels is necessary to supervise and support the Concurrent Enrollment teachers. Projects may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Meeting with a future Concurrent Enrollment teacher to help them prepare to teach the college curriculum
  • Inspecting the high school classroom or lab for the necessary equipment to teach a Concurrent Enrollment course
  • Extra meetings or site visits with Concurrent Enrollment teachers who need help meeting college standards
  • Developing video tutorials or demonstrations
  • Professional development programs for high school instructors
  • Hosting workshops for high school students on campus

How to Process Forms for Special Projects

Payment is handled the same way as a site visit.

  1. Complete and sign the Concurrent Enrollment Liaison Agreement and send it to Peggy Sadler, ATC. Payment for site visits will not be made without the signed agreement.
  2. If you do not wish to be paid, please initial the statement saying so on the agreement form.
  3. Document the special project using the "Concurrent Enrollment Project Proposal Form".
  4. Incomplete forms will be returned to the liaison for completion before payment can be made.
  5. Obtain the division chair or department chair signature.
  6. Send site visit and project forms to the Concurrent Enrollment Department, mail code ATC, as they are completed or submit them all together at the end of the semester. Your signed reports are the documentation we use to validate the college's monitoring of the quality of instruction and to calculate payments.
  7. Submit the visit forms four weeks before expected payment (see the SLCC pay schedule).
