Freshman & Sophomores
Utah Board of Regents Policy states that students who take concurrent enrollment classes must have junior or senior standing, with 9th and 10th graders by exception. SLCC policy is the same. SLCC allows high schools to determine what constitutes a 9th or 10th grader who is academically prepared to participate in concurrent enrollment classes. Additionally SLCC has designated certain classes as eligible for 9th and 10th grader participation. To view these classes visit the "Course Offerings" section of the concurrent enrollment website where you will see listed in the "Grades Approved For" column whether or not a class is available to 9th and 10th graders.
9th and 10th graders are additionally limited to only one concurrent enrollment class per semester or two classes per year for yearlong classes. An appeal process is available to 9th and 10th graders who wish to exceed this limit. The appeal form can be found under the "forms" section of the CE website. Appeals are due to the concurrent enrollment office one week before the published registration deadline.
9th and 10th graders are required to meet course prerequisites and concurrent enrollment deadlines just as any other participating concurrent enrollment student.
