Tiffany has been working with Mountain Land Design for over 5 years. She does all the marketing and special events for all 3 of their locations. She loves to come up with unique concepts and different ways to market Mountain Land Design. She has planned over a hundred events over the years, some of them include: Christmas parties, sporting events, fundraisers, designer events, summer parties, weddings, open houses and themed parties to name a few. She loves to think out of the box and come up with fun ideas for events while using her interior design background when planning these events. She is a graduate of Salt Lake Community College.

Lisa C.
Lisa has worked in the hospitality/tourism industry for many years.  Her experiences include:

Laura K. Cappel, CMP
Laura got started in the Hospitality Industry as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Marketing at Denver's largest hotel, the Denver Hilton.  She joined the team at Snowbird Resort and Conference Center in 1286.  She has served as Administrative Assistant to the Director of Lodging, Director of Guest Services, Director or Conference Services, Catering & Entertainment and Special Events, Senior Sales Manager and Director of Group Sales.  She has served on the board of the Utah Meeting Professionals International Chapter for many years including President.  She received the Certified Meeting Professional designation in 1995 and has recently applied to serve on an international committee with MPI.

Karen Clifford
Karen is an Accredited Genealogist Professional Researcher, a Fellow of the Utah Genealogical Association, and the President/CEO of Genealogy Research Associates, Inc, (since 1985) with offices in California, Utah, and Washington D.C.  She has been an instructor in full-semester genealogy (traditional and Internet) courses at several California Community Colleges since 1990, and at the Salt lake Community College since 2006.  She is the author of five textbooks on genealogy and credentialing in genealogy; and six Family History Books.  She was the director of the first Virtual Genealogy Conference online in July of 2003.  She served for 10 years on the Board of Directors of the Federation of Genealogical Societies; and is currently 1st Vice Chair of The International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (www.ICAPGen.org).  She was the founding president of the Monterey County Genealogy Society and former Director of the Monterey, California Family History Center.

Mike obtained his medical degrees at Weber State University.  He began his journey in ultrasound in 1993.  Mike enjoys adding teaching to his list of accomplishments and states: "I love being able to share my experiences with students with emerging new technologies."

Denise Druce
Denise Druce is widely considered one of the leading health and fitness professionals in the state of Utah. She has a Masters of Public Health, (MPH) from the University of Utah School of Medicine. As a fitness expert, television host, personal trainer and group fitness instructor for over 25 years, Denise is a much sought after motivational speaker and wellness coach. She is the producer and lead instructor in a series of 28 home workout DVDs and is a Master Instructor for 24 Hour Fitness. She is on the coaching staff for the University of Utah Gymnastics team and teaches instructor training courses at the U of U as well. She and her husband, Michael live in Salt Lake City with their three boys.

Kristie Fitzgerald
Kristie received her BS in Pharmacy from the University of Utah.  Her professional career has included experience in the retail, hospital, outpatient, home infusion, nutritional support and educational aspects of pharmacy practice.  Her areas of expertise include pediatrics, nutritional support, home infusion and neonatology.  Kristie has been teaching at SLCC since 1997.  She loves seeing the students accomplish a goal that they work hard on and, in most cases, advances their career goals and earning potential.

Janet Grabe
Janet has been an RN since 1984, having been the top academic graduate of her Bachelor’s in Nursing with a 4.0 GPA. She also holds several certifications, including her most treasured ones as a Prepared Childbirth Instructor (through ICEA) and also as a Birth Doula and DONA-Approved Birth Doula Trainer. She has been happily married to Jim since 1984 (they started dating in 1980). She is originally from Hawaii. There, she followed in her mother’s footsteps as an RN in L&D at Kapiolani Medical Center, where they have the 9th most births in the US at 7,000 per year. She was a Level III RN and also became the Medical Center’s Bereavement Coordinator. As such, she led 3-day trainings of Bereavement Counselors and also trained all new L&D nurses. She coordinated a program of about 30 volunteer counselors helping families suffering miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, and newborn death. In addition, she has continued to offer Prepared Childbirth classes for about 25 years and has attended many births as a Doula.

Perry Hacker
Perry received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration at Northeastern University (Boston, MA), his Masters Degree in Higher Education from the University of Utah and most recently his Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation from Convention Industry Council (CIC).  With over 28 years experience in the hospitality industry.  Perry has planned over 100 meetings throughout the United States.  He is currently employed at the U of U as the Director of the University Guest House & Conference Center.  Previous employers include: Stein Erikson Lodge, Solitude Ski Resort and Snowbird Mountain Resort.

Christopher Isbell
Mr. Isbell has an MBA degree from Webster International University, with an undergraduate degree in business development and corporate strategies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Chris is a frequent guest Professor at the University of Nevada Las Vegas where he is requested to speak on a new Entrepreneurship program that he has developed for small and medium upstarts. Chris has owned and operated several successful service and distribution companies, which have increased his experience in many fields of commerce.

Prior to starting True Blue Inc., a business development company; Chris was the Managing partner and Chief Operating Officer of Technical Expo Account Management Company, LLC. This company focused on managing various large convention and trade show facilities around the nation and produced thousands of domestic and international business conventions. Chris developed numerous networking and information technology programs that are used industry wide today.In addition, Chris has a track record of successfully starting, incubating and developing new companies and bringing them to market.

K.C. Jensen
K.C. Jensen was raised in Baltimore, Maryland, but has lived in Utah since 1985.  He graduated from BYU with a Bachelors Degree in English in 1982 and worked in Baltimore, Maryland and Salt Lake City Utah as a Revenue Agent for the I.R.S. before returning to BYU for law school in 1987.  After graduating in 1990, Mr. Jensen worked for Parsons Behle & Latimer for eight years, focusing primarily on coroporate litigation and state tax law.  He has been teaching full time at SLCC since the Fall of 2000.  His outside interests include English and American History, fantasy baseball and movies.

John Kitzmiller
Owner and operator of Kitzmiller Genealogical Services, Inc., past Operations Director of ProGenealogist.com and past Vice-President of Price & Associates.  John is the Co-founder of Native Records Preservation as well as chairman & founder of The British Heritage Forum.  He has worked for 15 years for the Family History Department as a Product Manager, Operations Manager (Ancestral File), Chairman of the Lines of Business Committee, and supervised the design of record-linkage technology applications to genealogical databases - including the creation of the sear engine for TempleReady.  John teaches genealogy classes for Salt Lake Community College.  He is a fellow of the Society of Genealogists (including Scotland, Ireland and England).  He is an accredited Genealogist in England, Scotland, and Canada.  John is an international lecturer, genealogy instructor, author and publisher.  Co-founder of Native Records Preservations and consultant to AVIKAN - a Native American Foundation.

Ranny Lacanienta
Ranny currently works in the LIS Department as a Systems Analyst/Administrator for the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University.  He also was recently given tasks of a Subject Librarian over Technology in the same library/
He Started his library career as a student at BYU working in the Serials Department checking in journals and assisting with programming projects in that department.  He graduated from BYU with a degree in Computer Science in 1991 and was employed by BYU in the Systems Department.  He received his MSLIS Degree at Syracuse University in 2004.

Lara Lockwood
Lara has been planning fund raisers and special events since she graduated from the University of Utah thirteen years ago. She has worked for several non-profit organizations including the Utah AIDS Foundation, Catholic Community Services and Ballet West. Lara has planned a variety of fundraising events including black tie galas, golf tournaments, fashion shows, award dinners, soirees, art shows and auctions. In December 2006 she took a position as Public Relations Specialist for the new IKEA store in Draper, UT. She planned the events and entertainment for their grand opening celebration and also coordinated IKEA’s marketing, media and community affairs. She resigned in spring 2008 to stay home with her children.

Jerry Mika
Delivering laundry and valet to guests was Jerry's first job.  From this humble hospitality beginning, he worked his way through front desk, accounting, food and beverage, and finally settled on hotel sales and marketing.  Jerry has held various sales and marketing management positions with the Marriott Corporation, Slat Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau, Village Resorts, Kahler Hotels and Sunstone Hotels and Resorts.  Jerry is currently a National Sales Manager for Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort.  He holds the hotel industry designation of Certified Hotel Sales Executive (CHSE) and is a member of MPI, RCMA and HSMAI.  He is a graduate of the University of Utah.

Michael Nesbit
Mike is currently the Diagnostix AccuPrice Pharmacy Manager.  He Facilitates the verification of contracts and coordinates with team members to clarify contract reports and present Diagnostix contract benefits to both current and potential members.
Mike's experience with Amerinet began as a member of the pharmacy team where he worked before specializing in pharmacy and customer service. He later joined Amerinet's Cost Study department where he became well-versed in pharmacy topics for the Medica/Sergical portfolio.  Mike worked as a Pharmacy Technician in a community pharmacy and later joined the American Stores as pharmacy purchasing director for the mail order facility.
Mike is currently licensed as a pharmacy technician in Utah and teachers several pharmacy classes at Salt Lake Community College.

Brian Ricks
Brian is a graduate of Ricks College and Utah State University. He began his career in hospitality as a sales assistant. From there he has worked as a sales coordinator, sales manager, independent meeting planner, and senior sales manager. In his career he has worked for Comfort Inn, Radisson, Renaissance Suites, and ConferenceDirect. He is currently employed with Hilton Hotels. Brian is active with MPI and is currently serving on the board of directors as vice president of professional development.

Mauro Romualdo "Jamaika"
Jamaika is from Brazil and has been participating in Capoeira since 1991.  He has taught and performed in Brazil, Israel and all over the United States.  He was the First Place National Champion for the Brazilian Confederation of Capoeira Competition in 1996, 1997 and 1998.

Joan Simard, MS, RN, CNN
Joan Camarro Simard, MS, RN, CNN graduated from the University of Bridgeport, College of Nursing Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1975 with her Associates in Science, Nursing.  Then in 1990 she obtained her Bachelor of Science, Nursing, from Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Connecticut.  She then moved to Utah to study at the University of Utah and received her Master's of Science in Nursing, Clinical Informatics in 1998.
She was employed as a nephrology nurse since 1978, working with both chronic and acute care hemodialysis patients while working at the Hospital of Saint Raphael's, New Haven, Connecticut until her move to Utah.  Since then, she has been in the position of nephrology staff nurse, charge nurse, primary nurse and most recently Clinical Information System Coordinator for Intermountain Healthcare Dialysis Centers.  She has presented a variety of nursing topics to local and national nephrology nursing audiences.
Joan is a Certified Nephrology Nurse and is an active member of the American Nephrology Nurses' Association.  She has served in several elected offices, both locally and regionally over the years.  She started teaching as an Adjunct Faculty member of Salt Lake Community College spring semester 2001.

Kelly Webb
A graduate of the University of Washington in Seattle, Kelly first entered the Hospitality and Travel industry 15 years ago.  After working for a Northwest travel agency as a senior agent, she went to work for the American Express / Microsoft Travel Account on the Executive VIP Desk.  Later she became Lead Planner in the Microsoft Meetings Division, assisting Bill Gates and his top team of executives with their unique corporate travel and meeting needs, including city-wide conventions with up to 8,000 attendees.
After relocating to Utah, she went to work for Deer Valley Lodging as a Sales Manager and it's parent company, Premier Resorts International, as Director of Sales.  After that she gained even more valuable experience as an Account Executive for an Advertising and Marketing Firm which held a 5-Diamond Lodge and a Utah Convention and Visitors Bureau among its many clients.  Kelly is currently working as an independent Regional Manager for HelmsBriscoe, a conference resource and site selection firm.  Kelly was invited to speak recently on a speakers panel for Meeting Professionals International/Utah.
Kelly grew up overseas and has traveled the world extensively with her passion for the industry.  With experience in Travel, Marketing, Meeting Planning, Convention Service and Sales, to now Management and Hospitality Industry.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys skiing, training horses at a Park City ranch, and is a certified white-water raft guide.

Julia A. Westlake, MAEd, MBA
Julia has a Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Science, a Masters Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, a Masters Degree in Business Management, and Graduate Level coursework in Psychology. Julia has over 10 years of experience planning events ranging from small business meetings to large scale corporate events and conventions as well as weddings and receptions. Julia has planned events for both non-profit and for-profit organizations in the United States and Europe. Additionally, Julia has been involved in all aspects of event planning from conception through execution. In the events industry Julia has held positions as the Director of the Phoenix Film Society, Director of Film-maker relations for the International Horror and Sci-fi Film Festival and the Phoenix Film Festival, a local activities director for a national sorority, a senior administrator and event planner for an international private university, and a freelance event planner.

Michael Whitchurch
Michael is the "Information Commons Section Head" at Brigham Young University.  He oversees the reference and computer support for the "Information Commons."  His previous library experiences include work in a law school library doing reference, Interlibrary Loan, computer support and Circulation.  He was also the WebCT administrator and an instruction librarian at the University of Utah.  He managed the film vault at the LDS Motion Picture Studio.  He received his masters degree in 1999 from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

Marci Williams
Marci works as the Director of The Park Center where she oversees a 65,000 ft recreation and fitness facility for Murray City. She is involved in the administration, day-to-day operations, programming, sales and marketing.
Marci has over 25 years of experience in the fitness and recreation industries. She holds certifications from ACE, AFAA, Pilates and Heart Zone Systems and has a B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Utah. In addition she is a Master Instructor for the Spinning program, Pre & Post Natal specialist, a flexibility technician, a USA Cycling coach, a professor for Salt Lake Community College, a management consultant, and a professional lecturer.
Marci is currently serving on the Reitz Marketing and Revenue Sources Management School Board of Regents. In addition, Marci has served as a PAC Chairperson for Salt Lake Community College and is currently Chairperson for the “Get Movin” campaign which is part of the NRPA’s Step Up to Health Initiative. “Get Movin” is a state wide campaign in the state of Utah. She has also served on the community board for the Fitness Institute with the IHC group and as the Chairperson for Public Relations for the Utah Fitness Professionals Association.
Marci was recently named “2006 Outstanding Professional” by the Utah State Parks & Recreation Association. She has a driving desire to help her patrons, co-workers, and community achieve lifestyle balance, overcome poor habits, promote health, and involve people in movement and activities that enhance their well-being. She enjoys working with people one-on-one as well as in group settings and hopes to be able to impact as many people as possible through the Community Center and community resources.
