
Continuing Education at Salt Lake Community College offers you a choice of ten audio courses that meet Utah's DOPL requirements for your license renewal and continuing education requirements. With our audio lectures, you can listen while you commute or work, and/or load it onto your MP3 player, phone or iPod® for absolute convenience. Each course is available in a self-paced format that can be registered for and taken at any time prior to December 1, 2009. Courses are available so that you may: (1) listen to them online through your computer, and/or download them from your computer and/or burn them onto a disk, (2) upload the courses from your computer onto your MP3 player, phone or iPod®, or (3) play the courses from any CD player in your car, home or office. For the latter, a physical copy of the CDs will be sent to you.
Online/Downloadable format
The courses consist of a 50 minute audio lecture and an online assessment of the material. Lecture companion material is also available and can be accessed and printed. The online/downloadable audio courses are $39 each.
CD format
CDs can also be sent to directly to your home or office so that you can listen to them while you are mobile, which is especially convenient for listening while you work or commute. The courses consist of a 50 minute audio lectures and an assessment of the material. After the assessment is completed, you must send it back to SLCC for grading. CDs are $49 each (includes shipping). Please allow 3 to 4 business days for shipping.
Registration

After your online purchase is complete, the information will be sent to our registration office. Within 24-48 hours, you will receive a confirmation email containing either information and instructions for accessing the online course or that your CD will be mailed shortly.

Litigation in construction cases is the focus of this lecture. The pros & cons of alternative dispute resolution and the expense associated with litigation will be covered. Session will conclude with tips to avoid litigation in the future.

This course will explore several common provisions in contracts and discuss how Utah law may enhance or modify provisions. Topics include: indemnification, alternate dispute resolution, prompt payment & attorney fees.
