Information for AttendeesConvocation is a special event exclusively for SLCC faculty, staff and administrators. It is a tradition committed to reinvigorating our commitment to students and to each other that honors our shared purpose—a mission of teaching and learning and a vision to be the premiere community college in the nation. All SLCC employees—full-time, part-time and adjunct—are invited to participate in Convocation. Please read the following for details and addition information about Convocation 2007. General Information for GuestsConvocation 2007 will be held on Tuesday, August 21. Please plan to arrive at Redwood Campus by 8:00 a.m. (Come earlier and you’ll have time for more pancakes!) AccessibilityFor employees who may be unfamiliar with Redwood Campus, accessibility information for the primary Convocation session location is as follows: The Lifetime Activities Center is accessible without steps from the north and east parking lots through the east doors. The Student Center is accessible without steps through all doors. Enter through the north doors for easiest access to the Pancake Breakfast. A limited number of handicap parking stalls are available directly in front of the east doors of the Lifetime Activities Center. A drop-off area is available in front of the east doors. Alternative Delivery (Webcast)Convocation sessions held in the Lifetime Activities Center will be webcast live. The webcast is provided specifically for personnel who cannot attend Convocation due to their roles in preparing for the new academic year. To access the the webcast, click here. AttireAttire is business casual. For additional information about the SLCC dress code, click here. Inclement WeatherAll Convocation venues are inside or provide cover, so inclement weather will not change the planned agenda. However, participants will move from building to building throughout the day. If it looks rainy, you may want to wear a rain jacket or bring an umbrella! Parking and TransportationParking will be available throughout Redwood Campus on August 21. UTA bus and train transportation will be running as scheduled. UTA schedules and paratransit information are available at http://www.rideuta.com. Questions/Additional InformationIf you have additional questions about Convocation 2007 events or your participation, please contact your Vice President. SmokingThe Utah Clean Air Act prohibits smoking in all SLCC buildings including the Lifetime Activities Center. Smoking is permitted outside the LAC. Please help us keep SLCC clean by using the ash receptacles provided. TicketsConvocation Dayactivities are open to all SLCC employees. Tickets are not required. SLCC Night at the Grand is open to all SLCC students and employees. Tickets will be available at Courtesy Desks across the College beginning August 22 and at The Grand Theatre Will Call desk the night of the show. The September 11 Volleyball Game is FREE for SLCC employees. Present your SLCC ID at the Bruin Ticket Office for admission. VolunteersThe Convocation Committee seeks employee volunteers to help with a wide variety of activities including set-up and ushering.
