Services

The Community Writing Center (CWC) offers a wide range of services oriented toward individual development (with such programs as Writing Coaching, Writing Workshops, and the DiverseCity Writing Series) and organizational involvement (with our Writing Partners program). The CWC supports, motivates and educates people of all abilities and educational backgrounds who want to use writing for practical needs, civic engagement and personal expression. Our team of qualified writing coaches and volunteers are here to serve you with whatever your writing needs may be.

Write here, write now! The CWC offers a supportive and comfortable location to write, meet with others or develop your ideas. Our facilities are equipped with writing instruments, a relaxing writing space, a comprehensive library and a classroom available for reservation.

Computers

CWC computers are available for you to work on writing projects while in a Writing Coaching session with a Writing Assistant. Free computer and Internet access is available next-door in the Main Library’s Technology Center.

Classroom

The CWC classroom is available for writing groups or workshops by contacting a Writing Assistant to reserve it.   It is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The CWC Library

The CWC library resource is for on-site use only.  You are welcome to use these resources while you are here. If necessary, a Writing Assistant can make copies of pertinent pages for you (10c/page).
