The Developmental Writing Discipline is committed to help students develop their writing, reading, and critical thinking abilities through collaborative practices and creative processes to facilitate effective writing in college and in the world in general.

Developmental Writing Discipline Goals:

1. Students will engage in collaborative activities.
2. Students will demonstrate fluency in their writing.
3. Students will view writing as a way to both express and develop thinking.
4. Students will create pieces of writing with real purposes for clearly defined audiences.
5. Students will view writing as a social act with significant implications in their lives.
6. Students will produce final texts supported by a writing process.
