Scholarships
As tuition for higher education increases annually in Utah, the need for scholarships steadily increases. More than 70% of all SLCC students are unable to afford higher education without some kind of financial aid. Scholarships and paid internships are offered through the Salt Lake Community College Foundation, as well as local and federal grants.
The Development Office is fortunate to be the benefactor of so many generous resources including alumni, private donors, corporate donors and others in the community that provide funding for student scholarships. Clearly they share in our belief that not only does education enrich the lives of the students who attend the Salt Lake Community College, the community, in turn, is enriched by those students who attend and graduate from the College.
Funds donated for scholarships may be:
- Endowed – interest from the original (endowed) gift is used as a perpetual source of scholarships funding
