1. The SLCC Globe. The SLCC Globe must accompany all internally and externally distributed print materials. 2. The phrase “AA/EO Institution” must appear on the printed material. The placement of the phrase is based on design discretion. 3. Brand Typography: 4. Illustration and Photography: Loose, line illustrations are used to represent and emphasize key brand traits, namely "edgy, daring, hip, and modern." Their uniqueness is crucial to helping SLCC differentiate itself, and build the brand. The illustrations allow us the flexibility to represent all kinds and ages of students, and do so at far less cost than photography. Black and white photography can, at times, be combined with the illustration style. 5. Approvals for Internal Communications. Printed materials produced by College departments or divisions for internal distribution (posted on campuses, e-mail distribution of flyers, handouts to students, staff, faculty or administrators) should go through the appropriate VP channel for approval. (The Institutional Marketing and Communication Department is happy to provide a courtesy review of materials slated for internal distribution, at your request. To receive a courtesy review, contact institutionalmarketing@slcc.edu. Indicate the date you are planning to finalize the flyer or brochure. Your materials will be approved no later than end of same business day). If you do not desire a courtesy review, simply facilitate approvals from within the college division or department where the material originates. 6. Approvals for External Communications. Institutional Marketing and Communications will review all materials to be distributed externally (to the media, to business or civic leaders, business partners, PACs, and the community-at-large). This is not meant to complicate your communication, but to enhance it by ensuring that the messages sent are as coordinated and strong as possible and represent SLCC appropriately and in a unified way. Send materials to institutionalmarketing@slcc.edu. Indicate the date you are planning to finalize the materials. Materials received before 3 p.m. will be approved no later than the end of same business day. 7. Follow up and questions.
