The transfer application procedure is for students who are transferring from another college or university in the U.S. to SLCC without first returning to their home country. The following documents and credentials are to be submitted to International Student Services for review before Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) will issue an I-20:
1. Application for Admission
Complete the International Student Application for Admission with the appropriate field of study. A $75 non-refundable application fee must accompany the application.

A realistic financial plan is necessary for the issuance of an I-20 form. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS, formerly INS) requires Salt Lake Community College to verify that an international student has the financial ability to pursue an education in the United States. The following documents may be used to demonstrate financial ability:Financial Statement Form for International Students (Adobe PDF version)*

Please note the following:
3. Proof of English Proficiency
To be placed into classes all students will take the Accuplacer test (http://www.slcc.edu/testing). Students who do not have the English proficiency required for college-level work will enroll 20 hours per week in ESL Program. If a student has taken college-level English and math courses at another institution in the U.S. the Accuplacer requirement may be waived based on awarded transfer credit. Students should submit their official transcript and follow the procedure outlined in item (4) at least one month prior to the start of classes to have the Accuplacer requirement waived.
4. Transcripts
Students who have attended a U.S. post-secondary school, college or university must submit official transcripts from that school. To receive transfer credit, please complete the Request for Transfer Credit Evaluation form available through the transcripts office at Transcript Evaluations. Students who have attended a non-U.S. post-secondary school, college, or university are not required to submit transcripts, but may submit them for possible credit transfer. Official English translations must be included with all foreign documents. Faxed documents are not accepted. Foreign credit evaluations can be obtained through a company that does foreign credential evaluation such as Educational Perspectives at www.educational-perspectives.org.
5. Transfer Form
Students (who currently have an F-1 visa) transferring from schools within the U.S. must submit a transfer form signed by the International Student Advisor at the current school certifying that the student has been enrolled full-time and has maintained F-1 student status. Overall grade point average (cumulative) for transfer students must be a 2.0 (C average) or better for consideration for admission.

Enrollment information for the SLCC plan for international students can be found at www.renstudent.com/slcc.
