David Davenchy

Hey my name is a David Davenchy . I am a music Artist and Producer based out of Salt Lake City Utah. I have been involved in music my whole life . I started playing drums at the age of 3 and learned how to dj and produce by the age of 18. Over the last 7 years I have worked with various local artist in Salt lake to build a portfolio ranging from hip hop to rnb and soul. I have produced and been featured on various projects such as Glo up the Album “K the Dawg “K” Album , Dre Taylor “ Taylor Made” and many others. My goal is to one day is to become a Grammy winning artist and producer and to work with various artist around the country and world.

SLC Mass Choir

In 2010, while pursuing a career in basketball, Timothy Drisdom had a conversation on a bus in China that would change his life forever. God spoke to Tim saying, "Give this up for me, and I'll take care of you." Upon returning to Salt Lake City, Tim gathered over 100 people for choir auditions and formed the SLC Mass Choir. Their mission was simple yet powerful: to share the message of Jesus with the world beyond the confines of church walls and into their daily lives.

Dr. Clifton G. Sanders

Clifton G. Sanders (PhD, University of Utah, BA Hamline University) is the Provost for Academic Affairs at Salt Lake Community College. He has more than 25 years teaching, administrative and leadership experience in higher education. Dr. Sanders led the development of several STEM programs and is a collaborator on several local, regional, and national initiatives on education, diversity and inclusivity, and workforce development. His scientific work resulted in six patents in biomaterials technology. He is an honorary member of Phi Thea Kappa. He is a recipient of the Utah Academy of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Service Award, the University of Utah Chemistry Department Distinguished Alumni Award and the University of Utah Founders Day Distinguished Alumni Award. Dr. Sanders has contributed articles and introductions to several academic journals and monographs.

Deidre Tayler

Deidre Tayler is a professor of Sociology in the department of sociology at Salt Lake Community College since 1992. Deidre worked as a child abuse investigator for 5 years before entering graduate school. She completed special training for social workers at the Mississippi Department Police Academy. Dr. Tyler is a licensed social worker in the state of Utah. She is also an Instructional Technologist with a MED degree in Instructional Technology. In 2005 she received the distinguished faculty lecture award and in 2017 she was awarded the Teaching Excellence Award.

Killin’ Straight Ahead Jazz—The G Brown Quintet Since 1991 has made an indelible mark upon the jazz music scene in Utah and beyond. This award-winning group has headlined numerous venues, festivals, concerts and special events, garnering acclaim for up-front, unpretentious, “killin’ straight ahead” jazz delivered with passion and outstanding musicianship.

The G. Brown Quintet features music spanning the history of modern jazz including compositions by jazz giants such as Bobby Watson, Miles Davis, Clifford Brown, Lee Morgan, Freddie Hubbard, Blue Mitchell, Terence Blanchard, Nicholas Payton and many more. Several of these classic songs, in addition to original and commissioned works, have been meticulously arranged to showcase the Quintet’s distinctive style.


Ngoma Africa

Ngoma y'Africa Cultural Center

Ngoma y'Africa Cultural Center (NACC) is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization established in the year 2016, dedicated to teaching the community about African cultures and to creating a support network for African descent families in Utah. 

At the center, you can benefit from the following programs:

  • Learn about African culture through storytelling, history, music, arts & crafts, poetry, cuisine, and languages spoken in Africa such as French, Kinyarwanda, Zulu, Lingala, and Swahili. We offer educational classes and workshops. 
  • Experience Africa through cultural events such as stage performances; our annual African Heritage Festival; presentations at school assemblies, churches, corporations, marriages; and holiday celebrations such as Black History Month, Christmas, Juneteenth, and Kwanzaa.   
  • Empower our community by offering resources for cultural integration, youth mentorship, financial literacy, health promotion, and economic development such as creating partnership opportunities between African entrepreneurs and Utah businesses. 
  • Communicate through Ubuntu Series which are monthly community conversations on diversity, equity, and inclusion with a purpose to heal and to unite ourselves, our communities, our nations, and the world. 

We aim to create a safe environment where different cultures come together in the African spirit of UBUNTU of diversity, humanity, unity, partnership, collaboration, and inclusion.


Jamie McGriff

Jamie McGriff

Jamie McGriff is an anchor for KUTV 2  Utah where she handles several shows. Her background includes news reporting in Alabama and social media covering local, national, international stories.

While reporting out in the field she covered various news stories including Covid-19’s impact on schools and the historic 2020 hurricane season. It was in that year she was on the front lines doing live reports as Hurricane Sally made landfall along the Gulf Coast. It’s an experience that Jamie will never forget.

Overall her path as a television journalist has taken her to a number of places including; Tulsa, Las Vegas and Memphis, Tennessee. Along the way she’s learned the ropes of storytelling and the art of live reporting and anchoring.

She’s a proud graduate of Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama (where she was raised) and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
