SLCC Milestones

Based upon anticipated enrollment growth 2008-2028, SLCC has identified a need for approximately 570,000 gross square feet of new space to support 9,200 new FTE students; this space may be owned or leased, depending on location and circumstances. In addition, there will also be a need for ongoing renewal of existing facilities to increase utilization and respond to evolving program requirements, as well as replacement of existing obsolete or unserviceable buildings that have exceeded their useful life spans. Milestones for new construction projects are proposed in five-year increments. Development of new facilities in the Southwest and Northwest areas can be deferred until anticipated population growth has clearly established the need for expanded service in these locations.
