MATH 1010 and 1050 Now Available as

Flexible Entry (FLEX) Internet Courses

Math 1010 and 1050 are now offered in a flexible entry format.  This means that you may enroll in the Internet course when it’s convenient for you after the first week of the semester.  Be advised, that completion of this course is within the same amount of time as an on-campus section of the course. Look for the MATH course sections listed as “FLEX Internet” in the Instruction Type area in the class schedule.

How do I register and/or enroll for the flexible entry Math class?

How long will I have to complete the flexible entry Math class?

You may complete the course as soon as you complete the requirements for the course.  It’s up to you as long as you finish within 15 weeks after enrolling in the class.  Your instructor will give you more specific information.

When do I pay for the course?

Any additional tuition or fees resulting from adding this course will be due on the day you enroll.  Please call Accounts Receivable at 957-4480 if you have any questions.   

If I decide to drop or withdraw the course will I get a refund for the tuition I’ve paid?

An official drop (with tuition refund) from a flexible entry course must occur within three weeks after the start date for the course.  Students requesting an official drop must contact the instructor for this drop to be enabled.  Students dropping themselves from their web account may not get processed as a drop.   

Students wanting to withdraw (no tuition refund) from the course after the third week from their start date but before the ninth week of their start date may do so by emailing the instructor.

In either case, i
f you are receiving financial aid, be sure to check with a financial aid advisor on how drops and withdraws may effect your award.

What happens if the semester ends and I am not finished with the course?

Your instructor will work with you on the course material for 15 weeks from the date you enroll in the course, regardless of semester dates. 

If I finish the class before the 15 weeks, when will I receive my grade?

If you complete the requirements for the course within the 15 weeks allotted, your final grade will be posted.

May I receive financial aid for the course?

If you have been awarded financial aid, you will be paid for this course also, if you enroll in the course by the NINTH week of a semester.  Your financial aid will be based on the semester in which you add the course.  If the course continues into the following semester, you will not be paid financial aid again for the course even though you are working on it in the next semester.  Check with a financial aid advisor for specific information.
