Ensemble Information

Salt Lake Community College's performing ensembles are a highly visible part of the community, performing in a variety of venues and functions, from providing entertainment at basketball games and SLCC's commencement activities, to featured concerts throughout the community.  See our auditions page for information about how to audition to participate in SLCC's performing ensembles and our concert schedule page for a list of upcoming performances featuring SLCC's ensembles.

Choirs

SLCC has two featured choirs for students.  Salt City Jazz is the college's elite jazz choir.  Concert Choir is a larger choir with a repertoire of works extending from the Middle Ages to the Modern era.  Contact Lyle Archibald for more information about SLCC's choirs.

Instrumental Ensembles

Students can participate in a variety of different instrumental ensembles at SLCC.  The Jazz Band performs many jazz standards and students from the jazz band also perform as the pep band at SLCC's basketball games.  Musicians more interested in a classical repertoire can receive credit for participating in the Taylorsville Symphony Orchestra, a community orchestra that works in partnership with SLCC. Students can also participate in the Murray Concert Band and receive credit for their participation.

For more information about SLCC's bands or orchestra, contact Craig Ferrin.
