Student Assessment

Each of our five programs conform to the policy of assessment defined by Academic Student Learning Outcomes (ASLO).  Each course in each program lists:

  • Student outcomes (competencies)

  • The method of assessing these outcomes

  • Which Academic Student Learning Outcome the assessment addresses.

The Learning Outcomes definitions are:

1. Acquire substantive knowledge in the discipline of their choice sufficient for further study, and/or demonstrate competencies required by employers to be hired and succeed in the workplace.

2. Communicate effectively.

3. Develop quantitative literacy’s necessary for their chosen field of study.

4. Think Critically.

5. Develop the knowledge and skills to be civically engaged, and/or to work with others in a professional and constructive manner.

Measures of success for our programs include: 1) Students successfully completing a program and receiving a college certificate of completion; 2) Students successfully completing Industry certifications such as A+, Network+, Linux+, MCP, MCSA, MCSE; 3) Students using our courses as credit in pursuing college degrees; 4) Students successfully obtaining employment in an industry related to the training received through our programs. Statistics regarding program successes are maintained and reviewed.
In the effort to keep up with technology as well as to meet Industry standards to provide the best training opportunities for our students, our courses are constantly under revision under advisement of a Program Advisory Committee comprised of industry professionals. Included below is a list of the learning outcomes/objectives for each of our five programs along with a corresponding ASLO and means of assessment.
