The School of Science, Mathematics and Engineering at Salt Lake Community College provides general education, transfer education and career training in the sciences, mathematics, engineering, health and lifetime activities and in closely related technology fields.
 The School also provides a diverse array of opportunities designed to enhance the educational experiences, career awareness, leadership development and professional success of our students .

The School houses five departments (Biology, Biotechnology, Engineering, Health and Lifetime Activities, Mathematics) and one division (Natural Sciences) which contains several programs (Architectural Technology, Chemistry, Engineering Design/Drafting Technology, Geosciences, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Machining Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Surveying)
