Online Supervisory Training Program For Current SLCC Supervisors
This online supervisor training program is located in the Reliant Behavioral Health Web Site. The RBH Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers a variety of services to help individuals resolve personal and professional issues. Their free services include: counseling, crisis assistance, legal and financial services, on-site trainings, critical incident stress debriefings, and more. For supervisors, the EAP offers support and information about how to effectively deal with performance issues.
The RBH Employee Relations Online Supervisor Training Program will provide SLCC supervisors with a powerful and comprehensive resource tool that will help supervisors to be more efficient, build stronger teams, and minimize the chances of dealing with harmful, time-consuming, or litigious matters that affect supervisors. The program is created especially for busy supervisors, because the entire program is offered "online," and can be accessed 24/7 from any computer with Internet access. The program will help supervisors with the "employee relations" part of their position. When a supervisor completes this program, they will receive a beautiful framed certificate, along with a $10 gift certificate of their choice to: The Bookstore, Cosmetology, Food Services, Grand Theatre or Health & Wellness Services.

Weight Watchers
HR Staff Development has brought the Weight Watchers On-Campus meetings to the employees at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus since 2001. The 12-Week, On-Campus Program is offered on Tuesdays. Employees register and pre-pay for program. With a doctors note, the employees can pay for the program with their flex spend money, which can save the employee around 30% on the cost of the program. A confidential weigh-in takes place between 11:45 and 12:00 noon. Then a meeting is conducted by the Weight Watchers Representative from 12:00 noon - 12:30 p.m. The meetings are held in a conference room, and the employees are encouraged to bring their weight loss tips and tricks to the meetings to share with other employees!

Crafting Our Community Program
HR Staff Development is proud to offer a program that builds community, enhances creativity and reduces stress. The Crafting Our Community program is an opportunity for SLCC employees to come together and share information about what's going on in their part of the College, while participating in a creative endeavor for one of the charities in the Salt Lake City area. In the fall, we meet during our lunch period and make crafts for various charities. The money that is made goes to Primary Children's Hospital. Come and get together with co-workers, and create a craft for someone who might not be as fortunate as we are. We supply the munchies, so come join us! Each crafter gets to keep one of the crafts they make, and take a pattern home to make additional crafts for gifts, etc. If you are a crafter, and would like to be a part of the Crafting Our Community Committee, please contact Deanne Arvizu at deanne.arvizu@slcc.edu or call 801-957-4088 for more information. Announcements for this program will be sent out via email and will be posted on MyPage.

The HR Staff Development Office is happy to offer two all-day training retreats for SLCC employees. The annual Support Staff Day is offered each spring, free to all SLCC support staff. The annual Supervisor Day is offered each fall, free for all SLCC staff who have attended the Supervisory Training Program. Both events include breakfast and lunch with entertainment. The day is filled with various break-out training sessions for the staff to choose from.
Employee Recognition
HR Staff Development is responsible for planning an "employee recognition" event every spring, to honor all of the SLCC employees for their years of service to the College and retirement from the College. Employees receive various types of awards, and there is always a celebration with food, fun and entertainment for all who attend.
UHESA Day
Each year, HR Staff Development invites 30 employees to spend a day up on Capitol Hill, while the Utah State Legislature is in session. The employees board The SLCC Bruin Bus at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus early in the morning, then make a quick stop at the South City Campus. As the Bruin Bus makes its way up to Capitol Hill, the employees are treated to a continental breakfast. Each employee receives an informational packet about the day's events. Upon arrival at the Capitol Building, the employees are greeted by legislative liaisons from the College, and escorted to a large meeting room that has been reserved by the Utah Higher Education Staff Association (UHESA) Officers. There they are joined by other UHESA employees from various colleges and universities in the State of Utah. The UHESA Officers conduct a meeting where they review the information in the packets and talk about the issues and the events of the day. The employees are encouraged to meet with Utah Senators and Legislators about the issues concerning themselves, UHESA, and the college or university they are there to represent. The employees meet with their representatives, take tours of the Capitol Building, mingle with colleagues over lunch, and then return to the College in the late afternoon.

Conferences
Every year, HR Staff Development invites SLCC employees to attend a local off-site conference, such as The Utah Women's Conference and the Zig Ziglar Conference. We provide the registration and transportation to and from the event for the first 30 employees to register, and we take The Bruin Bus! Employees are treated to a continental breakfast during the ride to the conference.
In-Person Professional Development Workshops
In-person professional development workshops are sponsored by the Track Learning Programs and the Fit Club.
