1. Why should I take this training? This training is for anyone interested in deepening their own personal practice or who would like to help and teach others Yoga.
2. What style of Yoga will be taught? We will focus on Hatha Yoga but will cover other styles for a deeper understanding of Yoga.
3. How much does the program cost? The only cost is for SLCC tuition, fees and books.
4. Where can I find work as a Yoga Instructor? With the ever increasing popularity of Yoga, Yoga teachers can work in a variety of settings. Work opportunities range from traditional Yoga studios and health clubs to hospitals, recovery centers and more.
5. Do I need to have a background in Yoga? In order to begin the program, we strongly recommend that you have a personal practice. The more background you have in attending classes or practicing on your own, the more you will be able to help and teach others. It is a prerequisite to have taken some Yoga classes or to have established your own personal practice.
6. When and where will it be offered? The first course will be held at the Redwood Campus fall semester 2007 which begins August 22, on Tuesdays from 12:00 to 2:50 p.m.
7. How long is the program? The program is a total of five courses which equal 13 credits. It could be completed in as little as one semester (if sufficient enrollment allows all the classes to be offered).
8. Is the program recognized by the Yoga Alliance? We are currently working with the Yoga Alliance to have our 200 hours of training meet the Alliance's guidelines for certification.
