Helpful tips

  • You don't have to apply for extended leave, but you'll have to fill out the proper online admission and residency updates when you return.
  • After returning from your extended leave, you must file your admission and residency updates by the admission deadline for the term you wish to attend. View our Academic Calendar for deadline dates.
  • We encourage you to meet with an Academic Advisor when you return from your extended leave.
  • Scholarships, tuition waivers and financial aid will expire during your extended leave, so you must reapply for Financial Aid.
  • You can earn Language Credits after returning from your time off.
  • Before you leave, we suggest you complete a Student Consent for Release of Records. This lets you appoint a person to request your transcript and register for classes for you, before you return. The Consent is valid for three years. You may want to leave your MySLCC login information and your educational plan with your appointed individual.
