Penina Fitiao

Penina Fitiao

Assistant Director

Talofa lava! My name is Penina Fitiao (she/they), and I’m the Assistant Director for Orientation and Transition. I oversee our orientation programs and love helping students feel connected and supported as they begin their journey at SLCC.

I’m a proud first‑generation college student, and my own educational path began right here at Salt Lake Community College. I later transferred to the University of Utah, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies with an emphasis in Latin American Studies, followed by a Master’s in Education Leadership and Policy. Throughout my college experience, I found strength and belonging through student clubs and organizations, communities that shaped my success and inspired my passion for supporting students.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my energetic boxer, Mako. I also love traveling, being in nature, running, and exploring local food spots.

I’m excited to connect with you and help you make the most of your time at SLCC!
