SLCC Science, Math, and Technology Summer Camps Offer K-12 students a place to Explore, Build, and Play
Whether your student wants to learn about science, take the stage, or hone their athletic skills, Salt Lake Community College summer camps offer them the opportunity to challenge themselves, learn new skills, and forge lasting friendships in a safe and supportive environment. Together with new friends and experienced faculty, campers will learn new skills and gain confidence while having fun on campus and in the community.
Bytes of Brilliance
SLCC's Bytes of Brilliance Camp is for girls ages 10-17. They learn to write computer code and create graphic animations. As part of their experience, campers tour top technology facilities and receive awards for their work.
Girls leave the camp with new skills, new confidence, and new friends. Many Bytes of Brilliance alumni have gone on to pursue careers in STEM. This program is possible, in part, due to the generous support of community partners including the Community Education Partnership of West Valley City, Apple Education, Microsoft Education, Adobe, L3 Technologies, IM Flash, Goldman Sachs, and Clark Planetarium. SLICK Summer Camp
Students in grades 7-9 are invited to become SLICK scientists. Participants get hands-on experience and activities in mathematics, physics, robotics, engineering, and GIS. Some topics include computer programming, 3-D Computer Modeling, 3-D Printing, and Engineering design. Students program an autonomous vehicle to navigate a specific set of parameters using the skills they learn in the daily activities for the week. Need-based scholarships are available.
