We’re excited to meet with you! The quickest way for you to be able to register for classes is to follow the steps below. (These steps are also listed in your Semester Checklist in MySLCC).

Step 1: Apply to SLCC

When you apply, you will select an area of study and/or program of study which we use to assign you to an academic advisor. Follow this link for information on how to update your application.

Step 2: Complete Orientation

You can complete an orientation in person or online. New students will have a registration hold on their account until the orientation is complete.

Step 3: Take a Math or English Placement Exam, Submit ACT/SAT Test Scores, or Submit and Evaluate Transcripts from another institution

This is only applicable if a) you need to register for a math or English class or a class that has a math or English prerequisite, b) are starting a Salt Lake Technical College program that requires the CASAS, or c) need to register for an ESL class. Follow the instructions on the Transfer Evaluation website to submit credit from another institution.

Step 4: Make an Appointment with Your Academic Advisor

Login to your MySLCC Experience page and click on the MySuccess tile to see your assigned advisor and schedule an appointment online. Have a quick question? We have quick question advising options! For assistance with scheduling an appointment you can call 801-957-4978, 801-957-6215, 801-957-3361 or send us a quick email at . Also check out your resources for self-advising.

Please note that Microsoft Teams does not show accurate appointment availability. Appointments made through Teams will be canceled and you will need to reschedule through MySuccess or by contacting the Academic Advising Front Desk at 801-957-4978.

Step 5: Register for Classes in MySLCC

If you have a schedule you’re trying to put together around other responsibilities, you should use College Scheduler. If you are looking for specific classes and/or instructors, you should use Banner Registration.
