Artificial intelligence is already part of daily life at SLCC—from classrooms and research to workflows and student support. To help faculty and staff navigate this rapidly changing landscape with confidence, the AI Training Institute invites the campus community to Focus & Learn Day: AI Expo on Friday, March 20.
Designed as a flexible, hands‑on learning experience, the AI Expo brings together faculty and staff to explore practical applications of AI, learn from colleagues, and engage in thoughtful conversations about how AI is shaping teaching, learning, and campus work. Sessions are short, focused, and intentionally accessible, making it easy to explore multiple topics throughout the day.
"The AI Expo brings faculty and staff together for hands‑on learning and practical conversations about how AI is already shaping our work at SLCC," says Alia Criddle, Director of Faculty Development
Hosted by the AI Training Institute, the Expo reflects a shared campus approach to building AI literacy and fluency—not just learning new tools, but understanding when, how, and why to use them responsibly. Participants can attend in person or online, choosing sessions that best match their role, interests, and experience level.
Event Details:
The Expo concludes with lunch and an anchor session led by Lon Schiffbauer, Human Connection in the AI Era, reinforcing a central theme of the day: while AI tools continue to evolve, relationships, ethics, and shared purpose remain at the heart of SLCC's work.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to explore the full schedule and register in advance:
