Thanks to the Metallica Scholars Initiative, students like Ashley Cheney are receiving the support they need to pursue a meaningful career as a surgical technician.

"The Metallica scholarship has helped me so much! It is nice to be able to focus on my schooling without having to worry about how I will be able to afford it. On top of that I can study in an amazing lab that has been funded.

I wanted to pursue surgical technology because surgery has always been an interest of mine and the Metallica Scholarship Initiative has made it possible for me to start my schooling at a young age. I plan on working at a larger hospital and maybe continue my education to become a first assist!
