Drivers’ Education
The Salt Lake Community College is now offering a Bilingual Drivers' Education Program at the Larry H. Miller Campus, 9750 South 300 West. "Being able to offer a bilingual program really allows us to reach out to more people in the community and provide a stronger learning environment," says Larry Barlage, Special Projects Coordinator with the Institute of Public Safety.
The Driver's Education program will be offered through the college as non-credit. Student will pay a flat fee of $200.00 to attend. Utah State Laws require 18 hours of classroom instruction and 12 hours of on-road driving/ observation. The Salt Lake Community College will offer nine 2 hour sessions of classroom instructions and then the 6 hours of on-road driving and 6 hours of observation.
Classes will be available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM for English instructions and then 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for Spanish instructions. All classes are held on the Miller Campus in building MFEC room 113.
