High School CE Students
The 3 Steps
Resources
Cost
Tuition
You are required to pay a partial tuition of $5 per credit hour for each class you are taking ($15 for a 3 credit hour class, $20 for a 4 credit hour class, etc.). To find out how to pay your partial tuition please follow the instruction found here. Failure to pay the $5 tuition will result in a registration hold on your account that will prevent you from registering for future class and accessing your college transcript.
Fees
Some concurrent enrollment classes include fees which are managed by the high school. Fees may be charged for the use of labs, equipment or other resources. If you are taking these concurrent enrollment classes you are responsible for paying fees. Some classes taken through the Concurrent On-Campus program will also have fees associated with them. Those are charged to the student's account at the time of registration and should be paid at the same time as partial tuition.
Textbooks
You may be required to purchase textbooks, workbooks and other materials required for concurrent enrollment courses. In some cases, however, high schools may purchase classroom sets for you to use. Textbooks may be purchased at the SLCC Bookstores or online.
Electronic Textbooks
Some courses have required electronic textbooks or "inclusive access" materials that integrate into the Canvas course. These have a cost associated with the course and is charged to a student's account at the time of registration and should be paid at the same time as partial tuition.
Private Schools
Private schools do not receive state funding to offset the costs of concurrent enrollment. If you are attending a private high school that has a contract to offer concurrent enrollment through SLCC, you must pay an additional fee on top of the $5/credit hour tuition to offset the cost of running the concurrent enrollment program.
