Concurrent Enrollment

CE Instructor Applications

  • New applications are for instructors who are new to SLCC CE or are applying to teach a new course
  • Ongoing applications are used for annual instructor renewals

Instructor qualifications

  • Qualifications for high school teachers to become concurrent enrollment instructors are based on state guidelines and vary based on the type of course.
  • Depending on how qualifications are met, required document uploads may include:
    • Transcripts
    •  Cover Letter
    • Resume
    • ePortfolio
    • Upper level mathematics credential issued by State Board of Education
    • Technical Education Certificate or Industry Certification
    • Documentation of student performance on qualifying test scores or AP exams
    • Continuing Education in Master's Degree or Higher
    • Documentation of having taught course as CE in 2018-19 or 2019-20 academic years

Submitting APPLICATIONS

All Instructor applications are processed through SLCC's Concurrent Enrollment system MyCE.

  • New applications must be submitted by the High School CE Coordinator and require:
    • Applicant First Name
    • Applicant Last Name
    • Applicant High School email address
    • Applicant Date of Birth
    • Applicant Social Security Number (needed to add them to the SLCC information system)
    • Applicant Work Phone
    • Courses applying to teach
      • Academic Year
      • Number of Fall Sections
      • Number of Spring Sections
      • Number of Year Long Sections
      • Number of 3rd Trimester Sections (if applicable)
    • Qualifying Documents (uploaded individually)
  • Ongoing applications may be submitted by either the CE Coordinator or the Instructor (who will have MyCE access after initial approval) and require:
    • Courses applying to teach
      • Academic Year
      • Number of Fall Sections
      • Number of Spring Sections
      • Number of Year Long Sections
      • Number of 3rd Trimester Sections (if applicable)
    • Qualifying Documents (uploaded individually)

APPLICATION review

  • New applications are reviewed by CE staff (for missing documents) and SLCC academic department faculty and deans.
  • Ongoing applications are reviewed by high school and district staff only, unless there are changes to course instructor qualifications, in which case the SLCC academic department may request a review.

CE coordinators can track the progress of applications in MyCE.

TIMELINEs

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and generally processed within 3-4 weeks.

Semester deadlines are in place to allow for adequate time for application review, onboarding, and training:

  • Fall Semester - March 31st
  • Spring Semester - November 1st
