Bruin Closet

FREE Clothing for Students, Staff, and Community Members

The Bruin Closet is a free resource located at SLCC's Taylorsville Redwood Campus. We provide clean, gently used or new clothing to support all individuals including students, staff, and community members who need items for:

  • Job interviews
  • Internships
  • Class presentations
  • Career Fairs
  • Work
  • School
  • Everyday life
Whether you're building your first professional wardrobe or simply need something presentable to wear, the Bruin Closet is her to help, with dignity and without judgment.
What You Might Find
Our inventory changes regularly based on donations. While we can't guarantee specific items or sizes, we often carry:
  • Business casual and professional clothing
  • Clean casual attire appropriate for class or work
  • Trade-specific wear (e.g., scrubs, safety vests, work pants)
  • Outerwear (e.g., jackets, coats, sweaters)
  • Footwear (e.g., dress shoes, clean sneakers, work boots)
  • Accessories (e.g., ties, belts, handbages, scarves)
  • Brand new socks (when available)

Note: Availability varies and is first-come, first-served. We recommend visiting early in the semester or before major events.
Tip:
If you’d feel confident wearing it to class, work, or a community event—it likely belongs in the Bruin Closet.

Who Can Use It?

  • Students, staff, and faculty may take up to 10 items per semester
  • Community members may use the closet as inventory allows
  • No appointment needed—just stop by during open hours

We aim to serve as many people as possible. If inventory is low, we may prioritize students and limit community access temporarily.
