CSIS Program Discontinued

The Computer Sciences & Information Systems (CSIS) Associate of Science (AS), Associate of Applied Science (AAS), and related Certificates of Proficiency (CP) are being discontinued. A teach out will run from Fall 2025 through the end of Summer 2027 so students can finish their program requirements.

What does This mean For You?

Current CSIS students can complete their declared AS/AAS degree and associated certificates during the teach out. No new students are being admitted to these programs.

Required courses will continue to be offered through Summer 2027. Electives will be offered based on demand to support timely completion.

You must meet all standard course, registration, and graduation application deadlines by the end of Summer 2027.

Finish Your CSIS Degree

Stay on track to graduate during the teach out period (Fall 2025 – Summer 2027). Contact your advisor to make your graduation plan.

Explore Another Path

  • Transfer to Salt Lake Technical College (SLTC) to complete the Information Technology program.
  • Switch to the Computer Science AS (School of Science, Math & Engineering).
  • Consider the Business AS or Business AA.

Meet with your academic advisor to confirm your plan and stay on track for graduation or transition to a new program. Current students can schedule an appointment with their advisor via the MySuccess card in MySLCC.

The Gail Miller Business School is phasing out these programs to align with evolving academic goals and workforce needs.
Yes. If you are currently enrolled or planning to graduate, you can complete your degree during the teach out period from August 2025 through the end of Summer 2027.
A teach out lets currently enrolled students finish their program after it stops admitting new students. Required courses will be offered through Summer 2027.
All required courses will run through Summer 2027. Electives will be scheduled based on enrollment and completion needs.
You must complete required courses and submit your graduation application by the end of Summer 2027.
You may transfer to the SLTC Information Technology program, or switch to the Computer Science AS, Business AS, or Business AA.
Contact Financial Aid advisors as early as possible to ensure you meet all requirements during the teach out period.
