Auto Awarding of Certificates

Students enrolled in an AS, AA, AAS, or APE program who complete certificates without applying for graduation will be automatically awarded these certificates at the end of the semester in which they complete their requirements. Once awarded, the certificate will appear on your transcript and is considered part of your permanent record. Auto awarded certificates fall into two categories: Standalone certificates and Embedded certificates. There is no fee required for a certificate that has been auto awarded.

Automatically awarded certificates typically should not affect Veteran or Financial Aid eligibility. If you have questions regarding your eligibility, please contact the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships or Veteran Services Office directly.

Auto Awarding of Degrees

Students enrolled at SLCC who complete all degree may have their degree automatically awarded at the end of the semester in which requirements are completed.

Once awarded, the degree will appear on your transcript and is considered part of your permanent academic record. Automatically awarded degrees follow the same academic and graduation policies as degrees awarded through the standard graduation application process.
