About the Provost Office
The Provost for Academic and Student Affairs serves as the College's Chief Academic Officer. The Provost directs and coordinates the full student experience, including both curricular and co-curricular learning, ensuring that teaching, learning, student development, engagement, support services, and educational pathways are aligned to promote student success, completion, and social and economic mobility.
The Provost works closely with the President's Executive Cabinet, administrators, faculty, staff, and community partners to advance the College's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities. The Office of the Provost collaborates across the institution to ensure excellence in faculty recruitment, retention, promotion, tenure, and performance while fostering innovation in teaching and learning, student support, and institutional effectiveness.
The Provost's leadership team includes academic and student affairs administrators who oversee curriculum; accreditation; academic programs; student learning outcomes and assessment; enrollment and student success initiatives; workforce and community partnerships; student engagement; and co-curricular learning experiences. Together, they work to create a seamless and integrated educational experience that supports students from entry through completion and beyond.
SLCC courses are taught by highly qualified faculty holding doctorate degrees, master's degrees, and industry credentials representing the leading edge of their fields. Credit and noncredit instructional programs are offered in traditional semester-based, accelerated, online, and open entry/open exit formats to meet the diverse educational, workforce, and personal development needs of the College's students and communities.
