Workforce Training programs partner with local business and industry partners to train residents of Utah and to further them in their careers. We offer public courses, pathway programs, and custom training to serve the needs of both organizations and individuals.
Funding Sources/Initiatives
Short-Term Intensive Training
Short Term Intensive Training (STIT) funds are available for approved not-for-credit courses. If you are approved for funding, STIT may pay up to 50% of the cost of the tuition associated with the course. Funding is based on Utah Residency. If approved, you will receive instructions to register for the program you selected.

Utah Works
In partnership with Talent Ready Utah, Salt Lake Community College is proud to offer tuition-free training through Utah Works. Custom Fit
Grow, train and retain your current workforce with tailored trainings and funding provided by the Utah State Legislature. As the Salt Lake County Custom Fit provider, SLCC is here to help you pay for vital trainings to keep your business competitive. Up to 40% of training costs may be paid for your company! Strategic Workforce Initiative (SWI) Funding
Strategic Workforce Initiative funding may pay 50% or more of the cost for training in IT & Computer Application programs leading to high-demand careers. To apply for funding, complete the SWI application to determine your eligibility. Funding is based on Utah Residency. If approved, you will receive instructions to register for the program you selected.
