This 40-hour course* will run over four full days or eight half-days blending theory and hands-on labs. As a result of this training, participants will be able to perform unit conversions and basic calculations used in metal assembly; interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and assembly documents to complete assigned tasks; demonstrate shop safety practices and proper use of PPE; follow work sequences, standards and protocols, and documentation requirements to complete work activities; complete document signoffs and verification processes; and perform basic sheet metal assembly tasks using hand tools and shop equipment.
*Upon completion participants will be guaranteed an interview with Complex Fabricators
What you will learn
- Unit conversion and basic math
- Installation of rivets, threaded inserts, bolts, and nut plates
- Interpreting engineering drawings
- Basic GD&T (General Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Use of pneumatics and hand tools
