Program Overview
This program offers a comprehensive suite of IPC certification and recertification courses designed to equip students with industry-standard skills in electronics assembly, wiring, and soldering. The IPC 610 courses cover the acceptability of electronic assemblies, including proper handling, ESD requirements, soldering standards, high voltage connections, component installation, and surface mount assembly requirements. The IPC 620 courses focus on cable and wire harness fabrication, training students in crimping, soldering, terminations, connectorization, splicing, coaxial cable assemblies, and high voltage application criteria. The IPC J Standard courses address hand and machine soldering processes, covering safety requirements, ESD awareness, wire and terminal assembly, through-hole and surface mount soldering, and reflow soldering techniques. Each course is available in both initial certification and recertification formats, ensuring professionals can both obtain and maintain their credentials in accordance with IPC industry standards.
IPC-A-610 Certification / Recertification
- Discuss the purpose, contents, specifications, and terms contained within the IPC-A-610 specification.
- Demonstrate proper handling, ESD requirements, cleanliness, and acceptable mechanical assembly requirements.
- Identify the requirements for soldering assemblies, the acceptability requirements for high voltage and terminal connections, and requirements for component installation.
- Recognize the requirements for surface mount assemblies.
IPC-A-620 Certification / Recertification
- Apply proper prepping for cable/wire preparation to crimp, solder, and complete terminations and insulation displacement connections.
- Explain connectorization and over-molding/potting.
- Create professional splices and coaxial/biaxial cable assemblies.
- Discuss the importance of ultrasonic welding, marking/labeling, wire bundle securing, shielding, and protective coverings.
- Identify high voltage application criteria.
IPC-J Certification / Recertification
- Recognize general safety requirements, necessary tools, and effects of electrostatic discharge (ESD).
- Create wire and terminal assemblies, solder through hole and surface mount connections.
- Identify general soldered connections, reflow soldering, and other machining requirements.
