Bruin Scholars - Summer Bridge
Welcome to the Bruin Scholars Program! You have just completed an amazing eight (8) week jump start to your education. You learned some amazing skills and are now ready to take on your education. As a Summer Bridge graduate you will transition into the Bruin Scholars Program, which you will be a part of until you Graduate! We are here to continue supporting you on your journey. Below are some details you may want to know. Welcome!
Applying for the Bruin Scholars Program
- While attending the Summer Bridge program, you were asked and provided the application to select your Campus and Coordinator.
- If you do not remember which campus or who your coordinator is, please contact Zitlalli Herrera, Assistant Director for the Bruin Scholars Program.
Your first-year at Salt Lake Community College
- Register for a minimum of 6 credits in fall, spring, and summer OR a minimum of 9 credits in fall and spring semesters for a total of 18 credits in an academic year
- Meet with your Coordinator at the beginning of the semester and during midterms.
- Attend two (2) Bruin Scholar sponsored events.
Your second year through to Graduation at Salt Lake Community College
- Register for a minimum of 6 credits in fall, spring, and summer OR a minimum of 9 credits in fall and spring semesters for a total of 18 credits in an academic year
- Meet with your Coordinator as directed by your Coordinator
- Begin attending the Career Series
- Begin attending the Transfer Series
- Attend two (2) Bruin Scholars sponsored events
Semester before Graduation
- Apply for graduation
- Meet with your Coordinator
- Attend the Career Series
- Attend the Transfer Series
- Inform your Coordinator you are graduating and your plans after
- Attend the end of year Bruin Scholars Graduation Celebration
