Annie Cox
Special Ed Adjunct Faculty
Annie Cox has taught students with mild to severe disabilities since 2010. She currently teaches students in kindergartener through ninth grade at a Montessori charter school in South Jordan. Before moving to Utah, she taught at district and charter schools in Arizona, North Carolina, and Colorado. Annie didn’t always want to be a teacher; her first career was as a finance officer in the US Air Force holding positions in the budget, customer service, and cost acquisitions departments.
Annie grew up in Virginia but has lived in nine states and one other country (Turkey) before settling in Utah. She has two young daughters and a husband who also works at SLCC.

Ryan T. Miller, Ph.D
Education Adjunct Faculty
Responsibilities:
Ryan received his Doctoral Degree in Curriculum & Instruction (Educational Technology) from the University of Utah in 2008, his Master’s in Education from Utah State University (Secondary Gifted & Talented) in 2001, and his Bachelors (Anthropology/Geography) from the University of Utah in 1994. Ryan taught High School Social Studies for 18 years, mostly working with juniors and seniors, and he has been involved in the educational field for over 27 years.
Ryan worked at the University of Phoenix for 14 years and recently retired. He has worked at Salt Lake Community College since 2012 as an adjunct instructor in the Education Department teaching EDU1010, EDU2140, EDU1000, and EDU2110. He has also taught Educational Psychology, Technology in the Classroom, and Research Methods at the University of Utah and was a Clinical Supervisor with Western Governor’s University for several years.
Ryan was born and raised in Utah and has always had a passion for the outdoors. He loves to garden, ski, and camp (especially with his Golden Retriever, Bodhi). Ryan happily lives alone with his dog and has two daughters who are just finishing up high school. He loves to go to their football games to watch both of them varsity cheerlead. On the side, Ryan has been a manager at The Home Depot since 2014, utilizing the same classroom teaching skills with the customers.
