The SLCC Foundation exists as a separate nonprofit corporation to support and help advance the mission of Salt Lake Community College to engage and support students in educational pathways leading to successful transfer and meaningful employment. Established in 1983, the Foundation has historically accomplished this objective by receiving and managing the philanthropic gifts and grants that SLCC's development office secures. Over the past decade, the funds managed by the Foundation have grown from less than $10 million to more than $30 million. The SLCC Foundation Board also exists to grow the visibility of SLCC through increased stakeholder engagement beyond just giving. One of SLCC's most promising stakeholder groups is the more than 175,000 alumni that the development office has been working to communicate with and engage on a regular basis since the fall of 2023.
