Many courses have prerequisites that can be met by completing the placement process. Students can fulfill these prerequisites by going through the placement process or by providing ACT or SAT scores to the college. Additionally, previous college credit may fulfill some prerequisites. For more information on course prerequisites please refer to the course descriptions found in the General Catalog.
No, but we recommend you go through the placement process, or submit your ACT or SAT scores, or previous college level English and Math credit, before attending an Orientation program. This will ensure you can register for classes once you've complete the online orientation.
My residency status is wrong and I am listed as an out-of-state (nonresident) student, what do I do?
If you believe you meet the requirements to be classified as a resident, you may appeal nonresident status by filling out an Application for Residency Classification.

Fill out the form and submit all requested documentation to the Admissions office.

If you are a first-time, first-year student, former concurrent or early enrollment student, you are required to attend an orientation. If you are a returning or transfer student, you will be given an earlier registration date if you complete orientation.
International students (those who have F-1 visas) must complete International Student Orientation.
If you completed the online orientation, your course registration hold will be released within 24 hours.
Yes, we offer orientation sessions at Taylorsville Redwood, South City, Jordan campuses. You may attend orientation at any campus even if you intend to take classes at another campus.
