Faculty Resources
Faculty
Welcome to the faculty section of Accessibility and Disability Services (ADS). This page will help answer any questions about accommodation letters, your role as faculty with a student that has a disability, and other resources to support you.
Please take the time to watch this video on designing your courses in a way that makes them more inclusive and engaging for all students.
Accessibility Letter
If you have a student that is being accommodated for a disability this semester, then you will or have already received an accommodation letter. The letter outlines the accommodations the student must receive unless it would result in a fundamental alteration to the program or class. In other words, accommodations outlined in the letter must be provided to the student. If you have any questions regarding how to provide accommodations, or you need support from our office, please contact ADS front desk at (801) 957-4659 or email us at ADS@slcc.edu.

Syllabus Statement
Please include the following statement on your class syllabus each semester:
SLCC values inclusive learning environments and strives to make all aspects of the College accessible to our students. If you have a disability and believe you need accommodations to improve access to learning materials or the learning environment, please contact the Accessibility and Disability Services: (phone) 801-957-4659; (email) ads@slcc.edu; (website) www.slcc.edu/ads.
Referring Students to ADS
Faculty can refer students who disclose a disability directly to ADS. If a student is struggling in your class but has not disclosed a disability, we recommend that you provide a list of resources which includes ADS. For example, you might refer the student to Academic Advising, the Learning Center as well as ADS. You can include any resources you think might be beneficial to that student.
Accommodation Procedures for Faculty
There will be students who need some accommodations in order to take a course at Salt Lake Community College. Below are several procedures that must be followed in order to provide accommodations for students.
